On Friday, June 20th from 8:00am-9:30am, Nicole Capretz will present the "Climate Action Plan and Roadmap to a Sustainable Future for San Diego: Progress and the new administration."
Nicole was most recently Director of Environmental Policy for Interim Mayor Todd Gloria where she developed the City of San Diego’s Climate Action Plan in 2013.
As the current Director of Policy for the District Two office of council member Ed Harris, Nicole brings 15+ years of professional experience representing public interests in the environmental arena, both in nonprofit and government agencies. Previously, Nicole was the Director of the Green Energy Green Jobs campaign at the Environmental Health Coalition (EHC) and before that she was a Senior Policy Advisor for Council member Donna Frye.
Nicole has advocated for local and state renewable energy legislation, participated in state energy administrative proceedings, been an expert witness in state policy hearings, and has spoken at a variety of energy and environmental conferences and hearings. She has a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School with a Masters in Environmental Law. Nicole rides her bike to work daily and envisions solar panels on every rooftop, and more bike racks and less paved parking lots in San Diego.
