On May 21, 2014, the San Diego Green Building Council's Lunch + LEED event was about Urban Farming and Edible Landscaping. It was a packed room at the Design Institute. Delicious healthy lunch provided by Jimbo's was a perfect complement to the event.
What a special treat we have for this month's GreenMeet: Eric Corey Freed will be presenting his latest talk, It's Zero Or Nothing: Solutions for the Post-Carbon Economy. The event is on Wednesday, May 14th, from 5:30 to 8:30, at the double-Platinum LEED Certified SDG&E Energy Innovation Center.
The USGBC San Diego Chapter will be participating in giveBIG, an online day of giving, in partnership with the San Diego Foundation. Donations made on May 6th through giveBIG will be magnified through incentive pool funds, enabling you to maximize your gift. Show your support for green building in San Diego and help us achieve our mission - To inspire, educate, and collaborate within our community to transform our built environment towards true sustainability. Check out what we've been up to in our new video:
More than 90 employee tenants attended the Earth Day Tenant Fair hosted by CBRE, the building management firm at 3655 Nobel Drive in San Diego. Committee members and volunteers from the San Diego Green Building Council joined with SDG&E (which gave out low-flow shower heads and aerators), Brickman Group Landscaping (handed out drought-resistant plants), V-Ride.com (company/group carpooling), an E-Waste recycler and an assortment of food vendors (great ceviche) for the midday event.
